Privacy Policy

KiddoNest ("we", "us") is made for children and the grown-ups who care for them. We built it to be kid-safe and ad-free, and we keep the information we collect to the minimum needed to run the app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Who this is for

KiddoNest is intended to be used by children under the supervision of a parent or guardian. Account creation and any purchases sit behind a grown-up area. We do not knowingly collect more personal information from a child than is necessary for the app to work.

What we collect

• Parent account (optional): if you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address so your child's progress can be saved and synced across devices. You can use most of the app without signing in.
• Learning progress: stories finished, stars earned, quiz scores, reading streak and garden items. This is stored on the device and, if you are signed in, synced to your account.
• Voice recordings: when a child records themselves reading a page, the audio is saved on the device. If you are signed in, recordings are also securely uploaded to your account so they are backed up and available across devices. Recordings are never sold, used for advertising, or shared publicly, and you can delete them at any time.
• Quiz audio: when answering a quiz by voice, a short audio clip is sent securely to a speech-to-text service only to recognise the spoken answer. It is not stored afterwards.

We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos (beyond a coloring image you choose to save), or use any third-party advertising or behavioural-tracking SDKs.

How we use information

• To save and sync your child's progress.
• To send an optional weekly parent summary email (reading time, quiz score, streak). You can turn this off, and every email has an unsubscribe link.
• To keep the app working, secure, and improved over time.

We never use your information to show behavioural advertising, and we do not sell or rent personal data.

Children's privacy

KiddoNest is designed to comply with children's privacy laws such as COPPA (US) and GDPR-K (EU). We do not serve targeted ads, we do not build advertising profiles of children, and purchases and settings are placed behind a parent gate. If you believe a child has provided us personal information you'd like removed, contact us and we will delete it.

Sharing & service providers

We do not sell personal data. We rely on a small number of trusted providers strictly to operate the app: Google (for optional sign-in), our hosting provider, and a speech-to-text service used momentarily for voice answers. Each handles data only on our behalf.

Your choices & deletion

• Delete your account & synced data anytime from Profile → Delete account.
• Local copies of recordings and progress on the device are removed when you uninstall the app; deleting your account also removes recordings and progress synced to your account.
• Turn off weekly emails from the unsubscribe link or your profile.

Security

Data sent between the app and our servers is protected in transit using HTTPS encryption.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
